I was born in Coventry in 1951 with both my father and his brother having some artistic skill.However, despite being top of my year most years in art I did not make it to art colledge - at which point I sort of gave up and went into engineering, eventually ending up in a well paid senior management post. I didnt do anything with my "drawing" till I met my wife to be in 1972 ( she has always encouraged me). I started doing pencil line portraits for people at work, children dogs cats that sort of thing, then tried water colour, then added ink to the medium. by the time our two boys were born I was into Pastels.Along the way I have done photo-journalism and written articles, worked as an industrial editor for 3 or 4 years and gained membership of the institute of journalism ( now lapsed). However, in a few years I will have to support my family by a diversity of occupations - primarily I would like that to be art/painting related - commissions, speculative and part-time teaching which I have done quite sucssesfuly in the past - non ciriculum stuff.
My favourite artists are Deagas, Monet, Arthur Rackham and John McCombs
